I want to change my telefonica monopuerto router to a wi-fi router. Do I have to get telefonoica to do this??

You can either swap it with any bog standard wireless ADSL router or plug a wireless access point/router into the monopuerto and configure it just as a LAN router. To swap it out you'll need to know how to change the VCI and VPI settings etc. so maybe the second option will be better as it's only switching off DHCP that is important.
