when i had hard line connection to my pc all went well until a virus attack.
changed to a laptop - hp 6375s - and a wireless router - d link di 524.
now when i am on line and the phone rings i SOMETIMES lose the connection and have to reset the telefonica router.
can anyone tell me what i can do as i have not chenged any of the splitters that i used when i had the pc.

This is nearly always caused by the splitters (microfilters). You need to double check all phones/faxes are through their own filters and the router is not. Let me know.

Thanks for the reply. I have double checked the phones - I have three digital phones and only one needs to be connected to the telefonica line in and it has its own splitter. The other two only require to have power supply from normal electric socket.
I have read through your other pages and discovered that it is not wise to have a digital phone near the router/wifi. I had one of my phones about 25cm from the router so I have moved it away. Only did so yeasterday and have not lost the signal as I have not received a call while on line. Will keep you posted but would still be happy to hear of other possible solutions in case this one doesn't work.
