I am running windows vista but am constantly getting problems with it not responding and cannot open my computer , control panel etc.

This could be a number of things Ped. First thing is to check for virus and spyware. Also check your hard disk for errors and unplug any USB devices. Keep a log to see if there is any pattern to the problem and keep me posted.
