Hello All, Happy New Year..

I have bought myself a new wirless laptop whilst on my Christmas holiday in the UK, this is an Acer, vista basic home, and all the rest of the goodies...

Connected to the internet with my new laptop whilst in the UK, went like a dream.

Now I have returned home to Spain, I cannot get connected to the net via my telefonica wireless router??? it keeps coming up with invalid security code, I know the code is correct (under the telefonica router)...

Silly question I know, but I suppose I will have to contact telefonica!!!

Hi Derek. It's possible Telefonica changed the code but they don't normally. Before you try anything else you may want to try swapping any zeros and letter o's as they do look pretty similar. You can login to the router and change the WEP or WPA key but cross that bridge if need be.

Thank you for your quick reply, I have tried all combinations but to no avail.

When I try to connect to the network via my laptop the only network it picks-up is WLAN242771 and this is set to WPA2-PSK, on the underside of the telefonica router this is WLAN_DE and is WEP

Not to confident in the MPA's & WEP's or logging into the router, propably need a dummies guide!!!
