Hi i have a acer 3050 laptop which is currently taking aprox 12 minutes to boot up. have cleared out unused programs history and cookies the ram is 256 mb,i found some articalls by yourself in coastrider advising upgrading the ram, as i suspect i have a virtual memory problem is this some thing a halftec amateur could undertake.
one other option i considered is Realtec offered a booster system any opinions.
i recently offered info on the vodafone stick which you published in RTN.

The first thing to try is 'msconfig' and check under the 'startup' tab to see what is loading as Windows starts. Click on 'start' 'run' and type msconfig. Most of the time you only need your antivirus program starting with Windows.
